FTSE: Blood On My Hands

‘Blood On My Hands’ will be released on 15th June 2015 and is the first track taken from FTSE’s anticipated debut album, due for release late this Summer.

FTSE is Sam Manville’s producer-artist-polemical guise, previously self-described as ‘one Man, one MPC, one cracked version of Logic and one blurred vision’.  Now, with Blood On My Hands, the vision is clear, a comment on the exploitation behind consumerism that is so rarely acknowledged (“silver, gold, gas, oil and coal / I got blood on my hands and all over my home”).

FTSE has already earned praise for his brutally honest gut-wrenching lyrics, his anti-capitalist social reflections, dis-satisfied and angry, which tell of his and others lives in the Midlands on the brink of both late nights and early mornings. His sparse beats, inventive sounds and sing-along pop choruses provide the most intimate and engaging backdrop from which his ability and poise impresses on every level.

Blood On My Hands follows three EP’s, FTSE I, FTSE II and Love Un Ltd which featured artists including Saint Saviour, Kenzie May, ForteBowie and Femme, and which have led to a million plays across Soundcloud, regular plays on Radio 1, Zane Lowe’s ‘Next Hype’, a Huw Stephens Maida Vale session, and accolades from The Guardian, Fader, Yours Truly, Dazed, I-D, DIY, The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Mixmag and more.

As a writer and producer Sam has recently been working with artists as varied as Bipolar Sunshine, Becky Hill, MNEK, Huntar, Tom Aspaul, Gavin James and Biffy Clyro’s recent Zane Lowe-presented ‘Drive’ re-imagination. Not to mention also finding time to form and front Get Hot, the hardcore collaborative project, with fellow established electronic producer Jakwob, that has been signed to the notable Last Gang Records (DFA 1979, Skrillex, Ryan Hemsworth, The New Pornographers).

FTSE, with full band, will play London’s Electrowerkz on 26th May and Reading/Leeds Festival, Radio 1Xtra Stage across the August Bank holiday.  Tickets for Electrowerkz are available from here: https://parallellines.ticketabc.com/events/ftse-2/
