Jessica Winter – Aftesun

Today, alt-pop provocateur Jessica Winter has released her sensational new single “Aftersun”, the fourth single from her upcoming debut, My First Album, which is set for release on Friday 11th July.

On “Aftersun”, Jessica creates a soon-to-be iconic pop anthem. Channelling ’00s aesthetics and addictive dance-pop beats, the new single is endlessly addictive and sure to be the soundtrack of the summer. Relentlessly inventive, with her new single Jessica does what she has done for her whole career and takes a multitude of influences and stamps her unique, unmistakable ‘Jessica Winter’ sound across them.

Speaking about “Aftersun”, Jessica said: “You’ve had a long day at work, and you want to let loose. You head to the club and lock eyes with someone, they pull you onto the dance floor and for a minute you lose yourself and everything around you melts away. Waking up the next afternoon having lost your memory, your things, and your dignity, you don’t mind because that feeling was worth it

Directed by Roger Spy, the accompanying video bursts open with Jessica in her blonde wig, a direct continuation of the “Wannabe” saga. But the illusion doesn’t last — in a striking moment, the blonde wig is ripped away, unveiling Jessica in all her raw, unfiltered glory. From there, it’s pure liberation: she dances like no one’s watching, glowing with sun-soaked confidence and fierce, unapologetic energy.

Also announced today is Jessica’s first UK headline tour which will take place in October 2025 and includes a date at London’s The Lower Third on Tuesday 28th October. All dates and tickets can be found on Jessica’s website HERE.

Jessica Winter – Wannabe

Today, alt-pop provocateur Jessica Winter shares “Wannabe”, the third single taken from her upcoming debut, My First Album, that releases on Friday 11th July.

On “Wannabe”, Jessica creates a stripped-back, raw, and emotive pop anthem. Taking inspiration from ’90s grunge, the track has an earworm chorus and lyrics that will be on a loop in your head for days. “Wannabe” is an endlessly relatable track and demonstrates why Jessica is one of the most authentic and innovative alt-pop artists on the scene today.

In the accompanying video, directed by Roger Spy, we see Jessica depicted as Edward Scissorhands, recreating the iconic hair-cutting scene from the classic ’90s film but with a surprising end twist to reflect the message of the song.

Speaking about “Wannabe”, Jessica said:

I wrote this song after a lengthy doom scroll. Got bored of feeling less than and the daily comparison. This song is a friendly reminder to stay in your own lane and to remember you are just as alien as everybody else.

Jessica Winter - All I Ever Really Wanted (Lyric Video)

Speaking about her debut album, Jessica said:

“My First Album is conceptually about ‘somebody’ aspiring to be a star and wanting to fill the void deep inside herself. Along the way there are various diversions and adventures, involving people, places, and things. Ultimately, however, she is on a journey of self-discovery and realisation, and that all she really needs is to love herself.

Speaking about her new single, “All I Ever Wanted”, Jessica said:

When fantastical expectations are set so high, reality will always feel like a disappointment. As an artist, fantasising is part of the process, but it can have a negative impact when you’re forever fantasising and lose appreciation for the real stuff. It’s a sound of life imploding whilst in delusional euphoria.

In July, Jessica Winter will play multiple in-store live dates to celebrate the release of My First Album, playing cities including London, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, and Liverpool. All dates and ticket links can be found on her website.

Jessica Winter – L.O.V.E.

Today, Monday 10th February, alt-pop provocateur Jessica Winter releases her incredible new single and music video, “L.O.V.E.”, out now. It is her first solo music release since her exceptional and critically acclaimed 2023 EP, Limerence. Also announced today is a London headline show at The Divine on Tuesday 15th April. Tickets are available to purchase here.

Jessica Winter - L.O.V.E.

On “L.O.V.E.”, Jessica Winter creates a vibrant pop anthem that channels 00’s aesthetics and addictive dance-pop beats which is sure to become an all-time classic. Relentlessly inventive, with her new single Jessica does what she has done for her whole career and takes a multitude of influences and stamps her unique, unmistakable ‘Jessica Winter’ sound across them. The accompanying video was inspired by Bob Fosse’s seminal 1983 film, Star 80, and sees Jessica undergoing a photoshoot in the backdrop of her home.

Speaking about ‘L.O.V.E.’, Jessica Winter said:

I wrote this song a year before realising I was a codependent; sometimes my music knows more than I do… I wanted to capture the feeling of being infatuated at the beginning of the song but by the end it inevitably falls deeper and finishes with soaring strings; the sound of falling in love to me. I wanted to release ‘L.O.V.E.’ first as I’ve been looking at love differently and how I define it since learning and doing work on codependency. Spelling out the word sounds so innocent, and it is. I’m just breaking it down to try and understand it. A musical reference was a compilation CD called Chilled Ibiza which me and my brother would listen to most summer holidays growing up.

Jessica Winter – Limerence EP + Funk This Up

Today Jessica Winter announces her new EP Limerence, out February 10th 2023 on limited edition 12″ vinyl and all digital platforms. The announcement is accompanied by the release of new single, “Funk This Up“, the second track from the EP after the acclaimed “Choreograph”.

On “Funk This Up”, Winter shows her versatility as an artist as she pivots from the more cinematic aesthetics of “Choreograph”, and favours a more raucous, dance-heavy approach. Grounded within her unique, unmistakable style, Winter delves into everything from synth-pop to punk and 80’s glam.

Limerence was written during a time when I was trying to understand my relationship to love and my behaviours around it.” says Jessica; “Love confuses me so much and I think this EP demonstrates that.

Directed by Ella Margolin and shot on VHS, the “Funk This Up” music video is an extension of Winter’s artistic vision and is testimony to her ability to create art that speaks for itself.

Jessica Winter - Funk This Up

Speaking about “Funk This Up”, Jessica said: “This song began as a conversation with myself… the verses being in the present and reacting to the choruses where I embody the more deranged temptress luring me into the depths of addiction and chaos.

The video captures two versions of the addict, the version that tries to stay balanced and together and the version that falls from the centre. We used different forms of distortion on the face and body and more extreme performance to capture the temptress.
