Darwin Deez – Constellations

Constellations’, the debut single from Darwin Deez, is released today.  Currently A-listed at 6 Music and NME Radio, XFM playlisted and championed by Zane Lowe at Radio 1. It is fantastic, tender, heartfelt and totally charming.  We think it sounds nothing like The Strokes, but what can you do?

“Extravagantly coiffured New Yorker produces wonderful, strangely yearning pop, matching Strokesian ennui to a melody that reaches for twinkling stars” (Guardian 27/11); “A minimal, scratchy, Strokesy pop-punk gem from the NY newcomer” (Sunday Times Hottest Download 06/12). “The debut single from Darwin Deez, totally f***ing awesome” (NME) “Great hair, great tume” (Grazia),

Sebastien Tellier – Penguin Prison

The flip side to the forthcoming mix of ‘L’amour Et La Violence’ by Floating Points is a complete reworking of Tellier’s neo-romantic Kubrickian fantasy ‘Fingers Of Steel’ by Penguin Prison. Assimilating a perfect brew of down-town funk hybrids his unique re-imagining features Penguin Prison himself on lead vocals, crooning a blue-eyed cover, whilst Tellier steps up solely to sing his own BV’s on the chorus. It’s a swirl of space-funk with added pop appeal, a Talking Heads-Tom Tom Club mélange of the highest funk factor.
